More Seniors Part II

Just finished the post processing on this shoot from late May. Great time out at the train tracks with some beautiful young ladies and so many potential poses. I definitely learned the hard way about bug spray in wooded areas. Alot of these shots came out a bit soft for my taste, so I think I like a range of 1/125-1/200 for shutter range and then just pop it in AV and let the camera do the work. That seemed to give me sharper images which is pretty much always a plus. I am certainly ready for Fall/Winter to return.

Seniors, Seniors, & More Seniors! We love it!

I gotta say I'm really excited seeing how these pictures came out. It's amazing, but I'm actually caught up in my photo processing queue! It was definitely helpful that I got sick and the Dr. made me stay home, during which time I reorganized my entire lightroom catalogue, standardized my file naming formatting, and processed like a mad fiend! I'm definitely getting more comfortable with lightroom and photoshop (though I still feel like I have a ton to learn on the latter). And I think I'm starting to get quicker at seeing what needs to be fixed, how to fix it, as well as streamlining my workflow to get it done faster. All good stuff. In these sessions I really worked on lighting especially outdoor lighting, and I think I see where I can really take it to the next level with composition and managing dynamic range. So here's a smattering of some of the most recent work I've gotten finished! I'm definitely ready to get going on some more sessions; I feel like I need more guys in my portfolio.

First Bridals

First bridal session experience out at NTPC. I had a really fun time with this, and I'm really thrilled how well the photos came out. I'm really getting to dig some of these photoshop actions, and I'm finding more that I really like as far as styles when it comes to modifying those to get the look that I want. What did I learn from this session? Hrm...Well... I really enjoyed shooting some of the details of the dress and hands. I really like the one of the hands/rose/ring with the shallow DOF that I got with my new Sigma 28-70 F2.8-4.

Daisy M. Prom Dress Shoot

Lesson Learned: keep the client moving so they don't faint... 'nough said.
