Baby Love

Alright so, my first newborn session. Special thanks to Sarah McFarlane who let us photograph her sweetpea McKinley last week at the club. I've always been a bit apprehensive about babies what with their crying, and fragility, and unpredictable incontinence, but I had a really fun time with my friends Pam and Allen doing this shoot. McKinley was born to be a model, great blue steel looks in a few images and howled like the dickens the moment we put her on a scale - yep typical model M.O..

While I don't know if I'll be adding babies into my full service offerings any time soon, it was great to get the experience under my belt. Here are some highlights.

...Art is Life is Art...

Ok maybe Coldplay puts me in an artsy mood, but I realize now that while I never had much talent with a paintbrush, or clay, or pencil, I've always been very compelled intrinsically to create. I could scratch out a solid beat on the drums, but eventually I'd get tired of it and wander off to something else. Here however is where I can really shine as an artist. I can study the technique of others and practice and learn and research for hours and never get tired of it. What is it about art and creating that gives that feeling of fulfillment and peace?
Emily is a really good painter, and I'm glad to have her creative eye to add to our business. We're just a creative family.

Sonsrena Portrait Event

Had a great time out last night with the Sonsrena apartment complex crowd at their grand re-opening. It was my first time working an event as a commercial sponsor. We provided walk-in portrait sessions and got free chocolate covered strawberries and apple cider - Win! Here are a couple highlights from the night. Thanks to Kendall, Brendan, Curtis and the Sonsrena management group for letting me do this!

Mid-Key

Had a great time out with NTPC doing a studio class last week. Sigh.... wish I could do them all, but work, and work, and work, and money keep getting in the way.

LOVE. this. one. From an aesthetic standpoint, I do believe this is my favorite pose of all time.

Photoshoot with Professional Bodybuilder Debra G.

This was a fun shoot to do, and in post processing I got to do some interesting effects; my particular favorite of which was the 300 effect mimiking the desaturation and increased red channels characteristic of the Spartan fighters. It's a stark reminder of how I need to get back in the gym...
